so, lots has happened in our family since i last posted in OCTOBER! :(
biggest news is that we had a little baby boy! Daniel Robert was born Feb 8th weighing in at 9 lbs 1 oz. he was and continues to be a BIG boy. We named him after my Dad, whose first name is Daniel, and after Bob Smart (Robert) who has been a great spiritual father and mentor to Joab and a wonderful friend to our family. Daniel looks like the others, with just a little bit darker hair. It appears that no matter how many children i have they are all going to look like the Rico side of our family. Darn Henson genes keep getting pushed aside. :)
and i am so thankful to report that he is a thumb sucker! horray!!! he is the best little sleeper and snuggler. he is 9 weeks old now and for the past 2 weeks he goes to bed around 9 and sleeps anywhere from 10-12+ hours straight! no, i'm not drugging him. he just does it on his own. i try to prepare myself every night for him to wake up at least once and continue to wake up shocked every morning when i haven't heard from him. and, of course, the first thing i do is go check and make sure he is alive!
Isaiah and Mercy love their little brother. they ask to hold him constantly and even ask me if they can wake him up sometimes. of course, the answer to that is always no.
Isaiah starts T-ball today and he is SO excited. i am a bit worried that he may be disappointed in hitting off the T, as he really loves to be pitched to. he has been hitting off the T since he was about 18 months old. We've imagined he might be fairly good at this sport so it will be interesting to see. here is a video of him as a little guy hitting a golf ball off the T.
And here he is last summer (3 1/2 yrs old), being pitched to and hitting me with a line drive.
Well, that's enough for today. Gonna take the kids to the park for a play date with friends. Horray for sunshine! :)
