So, Mercy and Isaiah are growing little weeds, keeping me completely busy and full of laughter. Mercy is talking finally. I discovered that she has known many words for some time but has been apparently withholding them. She just suddenly started bursting at the seams with all kinds of things to share. It is sweet to hear her little voice in action, beyond just "WAHHHHH!" I love that she now wakes up and shouts, "Hey! Daddy! Hey, Daddy!" (and no, daddy is not usually here in the mornings so i still don't understand why she calls him and not me!), rather than her prior screaming and crying to let me know she is awake. She is quite the character!
Isaiah is so curious and sooooo talkative. He loves to listen to a Kenny Loggins CD given to us by a friend...i know, kinda weird for an almost 4 year old, but whatever. I must admit I am pretty tired of "Footlose" and "Danger Zone." He also loves using his toy gun to shoot all the monsters in our house and all around town. I actually found myself saying, "Isaiah, go in your room before bed and make sure you get all the monsters in your closet." Immediately after i said it i couldn't believe that i had just told a little boy that there were monsters in his closet! He loved it though.
So, some of you have already heard this, but my favorite Isaiah story came about a year ago when he hit his sister... I spanked him, talked to him about how to love her better and about how to receive forgiveness, hugged him, and then said, "so, what is going to happen next time you hit someone?" And he says without hesitation, "I'll go to my room and die on the cross." I almost fell off the couch.
The other day, he also asked me, "Mommy, when the new baby comes, can i help you milk it?"
As you can imagine, i wasn't exactly sure how to respond.
I can't wait till mercy can put together sentences and questions. They really do say the funniest things.
Ok, off to nap then to the doctor.
