We were able to use Joab's fall break to take a little family vacation to Maggie Valley, N.C. We stayed at Aunt Chery's mountain house and had a wonderful time. There is no TV there and it was rainy so we got creative and really enjoyed doing things as a family. We taught the kids to play charades, eye spy, did lots of coloring, and read books. It was a nice escape from the duties of normal life. It was also pretty cold there, especially in the mornings, so the kids had a blast getting out their winter coats and gloves. It's amazing what they find to entertain themselves in new places. One of their favorite parts of our trip was throwing rocks in the gravel driveway. :) Simple life. Love it.
